Does a charity trustee get paid?

In most cases, charity trustees do not get paid.

Trusteeship is considered a voluntary position, and trustees are expected to donate their time and expertise to help the charity achieve its mission. However, there are some exceptions to this rule.

Trustee expenses and payments

In some cases, trustees may be reimbursed for expenses that they incur while serving on the board. For example, trustees may be reimbursed for travel expenses, or for the cost of attending training or educational events. However, trustees should not be paid for their time or services.
